Most likely, it's unburned fuel. I would begin with a tune-up, and make sure
the timing is kosher and that I've got spark to all 8 cylinders. Then, I'd next
move on to the carb.
If you've got EFI, you might ask the computer what it thinks might be up....

Well i replaced the plugs not too long ago.
The truck is carbed...and it does need work.
Im actully already taking the truck to get the carb rebuilt tomarrow. So im betting that that takes care of the problem!

Next time you shut it off, pull the air cleaner and look down the throat of the carb and see if it's dripping fuel, if it is, rebuild or replace.
Usually you can hear a leaking carb when it's running, pull the air cleaner and listen to the flow, it'll sound like it's spitting, not an even sound.
