Engine question.

In a 1980 f250 with a 351, it would be the 351 M right? I know they put them in until 82 but was the 351 windsor also vailable at this time? im still tryin to sort all my engine info out. thanks!

Check them valve covers. A 351W will have trapazoid covers, with the ends like so: /----\

Also, the water inlet and thermostat housing will be in the intake manifold, horizontal, pointing to the front.

The M will be vertical, into the block. And the M will have rectangular valve covers.

My '81 owners manual lists both engines concurrenty. The 351w is lighter duty but was still used in F250's such as mine. Which is paired up with the light duty rear axle and a GVWR of 8200#.
