New Ford powerstroke issues?

I've been hearing from alot of guys that the new Ford Powerstroke engines have alot of issues as oppose to the older Powerstrokes from the late 90s and early 2000s. Is there any truth to this? Because I was at the John Deere irrigation supply warehouse a week ago and they have a newer F250 that they had to get new new injectors only after 200,000 miles. My dad (and me sometimes) drives a 2001 F350 Powerstroke and it runs great and has about the same miles on it. If anyone could enlighten me about them I would be very thankfull.

They've all had issues.

The 7.3L's had weak transmissions. Build the transmission right and you have a beast that runs forever.

The 6.0L's had all sorts of problems. Put on head studs and delete the EGR and it'll last a long time.

The 6.4L's are still too new. There's been some problems with the DPF and a few other headaches. Yet at the same time, if you delete the DPF and add and SCT to it, you're over 500 rwhp. So it's got some serious power potential.

Just today I heard a 6.4L that didn't sound right. I had my windows down, and he was in the lane next to me accelerating while pulling a flatbed gooseneck (trailer was mostly empty, so it wasn't a real heavy load). However, his truck sounded HORRIBLE! It was the most agonizing sound I've ever heard from a diesel. Imagine a 460 with both exhaust manifold gaskets blown, and add a hole in the muffler. Then you would come close to the sound this 6.4L made. I was in shock. It's the first time I've heard one do something like that. Other 6.4L's have been very very quiet, so something was wrong with this particular truck.

What Curtis is saying is, the newer the diesel engine you buy, the more emissions stuff it's got on it. The emissions items are the limiting and often problematic issues (aside from bolts instead of studs on the 6.0 heads). The older trucks had their weak points too, and they do produce less horsepower and torque in stock form, but with less emissions equipment, there tends to be less breakdowns.

200,000 miles on injectors would be great. My 05 6.0 had 3 sets by the time it had 69,000 miles. I traded it at 91,000 miles.

on my 6.4, I did have a bad TCM at 600 miles, replaced no problem, they also had the venturi recall, was pushing cold water back into the radiator from the degas bottle and causing it to leak, design change.

There was a limited amount of injectors in a select group of trucks that had some bad injectors.

Other than that there are no wide spread issues that I am aware of.

I have 18K on mine and it runs great! I did put the Banks 6-gun on it to wake it up a bit and it does wonders.
