OKiedokie fordies. I got an 01 f150 with the XL package. I got a sunpro tach from autozone ( you know the kind) How can i wire it ine. what do i need any reccomendations and whatnot? I know there are a few things to do with the pcm or tracing wires back to the instrument cluster please help!

 

you need a tach adapter for all mod motors, you can pick them up from summit

 

Just a thought but would it not have been easier to just install an instrument cluster that has a tach, That is what I did with my 97 XL, They are relatively easy to install in about 20 minutes.

Go to sunpros website. they should have instructions on how to wire it up on your vehicle, and will let you know if you will need extra hardware.

 

There is a dedicated wire for a tach in the large bundle under the hood. I'm sorry but I am not sure which wire it is but it is there. Just connect to it and go.
