got an '02 F-350 and when i went out to start her this morning it turned over a few times then my gauge cluster started freaking out and all i hear is a bunch of clicking by the fuse box. I took out all the relay's and shook 'em to see if one was bad, but all "seemed" solid. I don't even have the fuse guide to know what is what. Any help would be kick@ss, as i still gotta make work today lol. Over the past month or so she's been seeming a bit sluggish on starting (not drawing enough amps to start with confidence) I just thought maybe that was the starter battery until this happened.
sounds good, I just cleaned terminals and had batts on charge but still nothing. It's been real weak sauce when starting the last month or so and I was just going to do it but i guess it chose the time for me. hey dumb question but when looking into the cab which one is the starter battery left or right? Actually I guess i should say passenger or driver's side? Also anyone have a fuse panel legend they can shoot to me? I can't believe that nowhere in owner's manual or on panel that it doesn't have some sort of legend.
The batts are inline, so they both do the same thing. Thats why you need to change both batts at the same time. The IDM needs to see 10.5 volts to tell the injectors to fire, while cranking.
well you guys were 100% correct, I went to autozone and got two duralast batt's and it fired right up. Thanks a million, also wanted to see if anyone else had duralasts in their rigs and how they are doing. I hate autozone with a passion, but were the only ones that had 850 cca batt's. I had Interstate in there before and were 875 but they only had 850's or 940's and the 940's were considerably more expensive. Thanks again I appreciate it immensely.
My NAPA Gold batteries went bad on me. Stopped by the local NAPA since they were not quite 2 years old yet and went to get them exchanged. Since I did not plan on having my batteries act up that day, I didn't bring the receipt with me. I have an account with NAPA so I figured they would just look it up in the computer. Found out things don't work that way.
The guy behind the counter looked at me and said, "We're not like Autozone where we can just look up your warranty by your phone number" while he was pointing across the street at Autozone. Guess who went across the street and got batteries from Autozoo? I haven't had any troubles with mine for over a year now, and I like the fact that as long as I can remember my phone number, the warranty will be there.
