one of the tanks on my radiator has a crack in it so i need to replace the radiator because it makes more sense to do that than get it retanked ( retank cost $90). i have a friend with a new radiator for a 1996 with a 5.8 that he'll sell me for $75. will this work with my 92 with a 5.8 thanks.
It should! I dont think there is much change in between the years. I know as long as the inlet and outlet ports on both radiators are in the same spot, interchange will be easy. But I do think they are the same!

All gasoline automatic V8s use the same radiator. Just have to make sure that your replacement radiator is from a vehicle that also had an automatic transmission.
Replacement OEM/aftermarket radiators all have the automatic transmission cooler. But original factory radiators will not have the automatic transmission cooler if they came from a manual transmission equipped F150. Most 5.8s in the F150 will all be automatic transmission equipped from the factory.
I must mention that there are single row and dual row radiators. The dual row is for the Super Cooling factory option and the single row is the standard cooling . Each requires a unique fan shroud.
So-look at the replacement radiator and make sure that there is an automatic transmission cooler in it and make sure that it is the same thickness as your original radiator.
