Suggestions for a Radiator

In fixing up my 93 E250 and I found that the radiator has a giant hole in it. I have been looking around for a quality radiator. The ones from Napa, Autozone, etc are the Spectra brand which I have read are total crap.

All of the nicer radiator brands I've found don't seem to make radiators for the E series, only for the F series.

Anyone have any suggestions on a quality brand direct fit Radiator for my 93 E250 with a 5.8?

Re: Radiator

Have a 1993 E150 5.8L that the radiator went out 2 weeks ago near Cookeville, TN in the hills. Made it to a Napa Service Center and they replaced it in 2 hours with a Napa radiator that has worked perfectly since in about 1500 miles of mixed driving. Also much heavier unit than the old original. We are in very hot humid TN and our front/rear ac cools much better now and fan clutch also works better. Part # from paperwork is NR 2339. Hope this helps

If you have really deep pockets, there are still some copper core radiators out there, in the $300 and up price range.

Most replacements are aluminum core, plastic tanks, they hold up, I just replaced one that was 10 years old, and it was "weeping" at the tank seams for some time, but didn't over heat, just leaked fluid from time to time.

The one thing you need to find is the deepest core you can for the 5.8, the deeper, the better cooling.

Rockauto.com has this one - APDI/PRO 8011456
The core is 2-1/4" depth. Cost - $120.79

Aluminum works better. Especially if they have welded aluminum tanks.

I don't dough you one bit.......

Cause I know, you would know that, from your experiences.

Agree that aluminum displaces heat quicker, and since what year, after the '97 year, almost every new vehicle have OEM aluminum radiators......??
