Towing my boat Friday, I noticed loud brake noise on the left front, going backwards & forwards. Truck was in 2 wheel drive, sounded like drum brakes from the old days. Rotor looks clean - no rivet/dust groove.
My brakes at 20K needed greaseing on the pins. I put it off and destroyed my front caliper and pads. They waranteed the caliper. But I had to pay for greaseing in the rear. Stupid but it happened. So grease the pins on all brakes before they seize up. Maybe NH weather but I never had trouble with any of my trucks brakes at this mileage.
if u use an oil change place like classy chassis they will grease all the alemite fittings for you. for the low low price of free.99, lucky my friend owns the place i take mine so i trust that his son takes care of my ride when they change oil etc. most people will tell you to do it yourself though

I've got grease guns & lithium based grease ( I think, my sometimers may be kicking in) - so the grease fittings are on the caliper & just give a squeeze or 2 & I oughta be good ?
I think what you are referring to as grease fittings on the calipers are actually your brake bleeder ports and you don't want to grease those. If you were to get any grease into the system you could be in Deep DooDoo.

I am awful glad I'm a bit of a procrastinator & haven't done anything about it yet. I'll keep a close eye out for a proper grease zerts.
Heard the noise twice in past 2 weeks, not braking noise at all & not towing either. I thought maybe a running board was loose, as the sound is like a metal pop or ping. Not the problem either, maybe I'll need the dealer to look at it.
