drive shaft length

Howdy all,
I have a 95 bronco and i am about to finish my installation on the 9" and i am afraid the drive shaft is going to be to short. On the old 8.8 it had a circular connector(not knowning the correct terms) attached to on the pinion nut and from there an assembly bolted on and held the u-joint and from there on to the shaft. Well now on the 9 inch all it has off the pinion nut is the connector for the u-joint. I was thinking maby i could use the circular connector off the old 8.8? any ideas? Is the only solution to get the shaft lengthened or a new one? Or is there a device i can use to lengthen the shaft, or a double u-joint?(not sure if one exist or even if i know what im talkin bout, hope yall do...?) Anyway, any and all help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary Warrick
