Has anyone heard of an additivie to coolant that helps combat the "sonic pitting" that occurs in diesels? Apparently (this concept being new to me) pitting around the outside of the cylinder walls occurs, where the coolant flows, true? Is there an additive to the coolant that offsets this?
You can also switch to a Caterpiller EC-1 approved extended life coolant and do away with SCA's all together. It is good for 300,000 miles and can be extended another 300k with an additive.
