Adding Power point inside console?
Has anyone added a power point inside the console? I have a 2009 XLT with the Captain chairs and console. I'm thinking about putting one inside it for my Cell Phone. I don't like the pwr cord off the dash to the phone that I leave in the console.
Has anyone done this? How hard is it to do?

My Lariat has one at the bottom on the passenger side. If the XLT does not come with one then i wouldn't think it would be to hard. People on here have run a usb cable into the center console with no problem.

get a 1" hole saw
most parts stores sell a small 12v accessory plug kit
splice the wires from your dash 12v plug, and then run them under the carpet and wire in the new plug wherever you want it

I've picked up a several sockets off of totaled vehicles at work. I have wired two of them into my work truck. I ran a direct power lead from the main fuse panel under the hood. Each socket is fused for 15 amps , they handle my computer power and allow me to recharge my 1 million candle power flood light.
