FICM Harness question

Can the FICM harness connector be cut off and spliced back together with a better one?

I would be concerned over Ford's option to deny warranty if they saw it.

That is not the problem. The truck is out of warranty anyway. About a month ago, Ford Dealership replaced the the FICM and 2 injectors. About 1 1/2 weeks truck was running bad again, so the dealership looked at the truck again and found that the pins to the wiring harness to the FICM was damaged. They tried to make me pay for the repair until I informed them that they were the ones that replaced the FICM in the first place. So they said that they could repair the harness without having to replace the whole wiring system. I am going to talk to them this week to find out how bad it is going to be If I can get them to replace the wiring harness since there was no problem before they replaced the FICM. I have a filling it will be like trying to pull teeth with them.
