ive heard some horror stories of bed rotting out from having a bed liner in there, i have a regular plastic one in there, but i wanted a rhino liner, the spray on stuff but cant afford it, but theres the stuff in the stores for a fraction of the price, herculiner i think? i want to know if anyone has had any good results or any resonable alternatives, thanks alot.
Do a search on "bedliner". There has been much discussion about pros/cons of plastic/professional install spray/ home spray or roll on.
I have lineX and love it. Great warranty.
I will warn you that if you do a home liner, none of the other outfits will provide a warranty on anything they install over it.
plastics arn't that bad as long as you take em out twice a year and clean the crap out from underneath them, sands your worst enemy, it grinds the paint right off like sand paper and here comes mr. rust!! Mines a 96 and it still looks pretty good underneath the plastic liner!
I had a plastic bedliner and I did not have any problems with rust. I did have a Reflex spray on bedliner installed 2 years ago and I like it alot better. The pastic one was hard on the knees and got pretty scratched up leaving sharp plastic pieces standing up like slivers. The Rhino liner uses sand/grit or something similar for traction and is uncomfortable on the knees as well. The Reflex uses something a little larger than the sand/grit and is more flexible so the knees like it.

If you're thinking about doing the Herculiner you gotta read this 1st
Wowthat's crazy I used that on my sisters Ford ranger years ago and didn't have that problem getting it all over. All ya do is where gloves and some coveralls n be good to go.
i dont know what your budget is but i had linex sprayed in my longbed, over the rails for $350 out the door. i love it and it has the lifetime guarantee with it
yeah i really didnt want to spend that much money on a bed lining system, i mean i still have the drop in now, theres nothing wrong with it, but i wants a spray on or something of that nature
Rodney,
That funny story brought back a painful memory. When I was 15 I was stripping the paint off of the dash of my first car (37 Pontiac Coup) at my dads garage. I was using brush on paint remover. I had to use the head and during this session I got some paint remover on my "Hootus".
Half way back to my project the fire in my pants flared up and I ran back to the head, standing in front if the sink dancing and splashing water on my "Hootus" when another worker came in and informed me while laughing that I was using the wrong method to load that "Thing".
That incident did not die for months to come, it became a standing joke among the mechanics.
