e4OD/4R100 Cooler Bypass?

e4OD/4R100 Cooler Bypass?
Tru Cool states that the 1994-1996 E4OD does not have a cooler bypass, but a 1999-2004 does. How about the 97? Mine is an OBS constructed in November 1997 (which is in the 98 model year?). How can I tell which tranny it has and whether or not it has a bypass? Thanks in Adavance,

E4od's do not have the by-pass valve. It started on the 99 model that has the 4r100 IIRC

FWIW, I bought the Tru-Cool 4739 MAX from that site w/ the thermal by-pass and like it alot.

It was model dependant back in 97.
Some E4's came with the valve. (E-Series)
The E4's with valve have 3/8 cooling lines.
