E4OD ID tag location?

Where exactly is the ID tag located? I've crawled up under there twice and can't locate it. 1994 E250

I have a '93 250 4X4 and it is connected to one of the bolts on the bell housing. Just curious what you need the ID tag for?

E4OD ID tag location?

I am needing to replace the transmission and was told I need the ID # to make sure the replacement trans matches. I was able to get the # thru a dealer by running the VIN #, apparently the tag is missing off mine. Just wondering though.......in Drive, I cannot shift above 1st gear. I can manually shift to 2nd then it will automatically shift to 3rd but no higher. I was told the sensors inside trans are bad. Does this sound right? I know I need to replace some engine sensors due to a problem with grounding a while back....could there be some other reason for my problem not directly related to bad transmission? It has 357,000 miles on original tranny so obviously a new one ain't a bad idea anyway, but just wondered.
