T18 interchangeability
ive got a t18 that uses the 2 pc drive shaft and i have a 1 pc drive shaft in my truck
can i just unbolt the longer tail shaft off a newer t18 and bolt it onto my older one that has the short tail shaft or will they not go together some how
the t18 i have has reverse up so it might not combine with the newer t18s with reverse down?
any help is awesome!

Shifter difference matters not. The early one was a carry over from the T 98.
Not sure on the tailshaft housing. Try pulling it, it might be an easy deal, or wait for another reply to confirm.
Some require a teardown, but looking at the blown up image of the T18, it doesn't look like it for this trans.
