windshield visor

Hi,

I have a 97 f250 with a windshield visor. And yes it is leaking around one of the screws. Other than using a rubber silicone, does anyone have any other suggestions that may be better in the long run?

Any help much appreciated,
Ron

What works pretty well is backing the screw out and coating with strip caulk. The strip caulk will smooch out and seal the threads pretty decently. A good quality strip caulk takes a long time to harden so it shouldn't vibrate loose. Another idea is to put a bigger screw in, but I would still use strip caulk on the threads. My last idea is to use rivnuts, they aren't very common in the automotive world and are kind of expensive, but it's a great way to thread sheet metal.
