289 bolt pattern
My 351 dropped a valve this weekend which thoroughly trashed the engine. I had a 289 in my shop which I did a quick rebuild on in order to get going again, only to realize it has a smaller, five bolt bellhousing pattern which doesn't match up with my C6. I didn't know they ever made a 289 with the smaller pattern. Anyway, I need to know if there is any kind of adapter out there to mate up the two bolt patterns. I've searched the internet with no luck so far. Thanks alot!

Doesn't the C6 have an integrated bell housing? I am almost positive. Can't check right now because I'm back in school. That would be the perfect solution of course. I've got a message in to Advanced Adaptors to see if they make anything.
I also have a C4 with the proper bell housing that could be rebuilt. Anyone have any idea of the dificulty of rebuilding a C4? Prices for parts? Thanks again!

289 bolt pattern
A c4 is no harder than a c6. You may have a gold mine there in that 5 bolt bellhousing 289. Now all you need to do is find someone with an early 65 mustang in need of an engine who wants to keep his ride original.
