DFORGY I had that same problem with my garden tractor. it would run for about 20 minutes then die I could never figure out what was wrong with it til i asked a small engine mechanic, and he said I shouldn't have jumped it with my truck after it sat all winter. Apparently I shouldn't have jumped it that way everytime it died too.
Well the truck is 12 volt, the tractor is 6 volt. I ended up buying a new Iattery and it was fine. The last year before I put it away for the winter, I couldn't get it to start at all, it wasn't getting fuel. I beleive at some point I tried starting it without the cap on, not sure though. Anyways it's now sitting in storage as I have no use for it right now since I am stuck in an partment with no yard work to do.
Sounds like you need to take the carb apart and clean up real good, but if you have no yard, no rush right? It's toasty outside but the wife says it's going to be storming again later, sick of that crap!
Well hello out there in Missouri FORD land, I'm back in the civilized world, so to speak. Alittle worst for wear and don't even ask about the picture's.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing ok and getting by. Counting the days till I'm home, and
looking forward to that day!!!!!
Might get one more leave block in the middle of Jul ? How would you like to walk down that road, in the last pic?
Hey Rich, good to see you made it back alive. I know you said not to ask about the pics, but you can't leave it at that. It looks like some major carnage.
Note to self, do not let the big spinnie thing on top hit anything solid. The sudden stoppage of the main rotor caused the tail rotor/tail boom assembly to, what we call "beer can", it self into the ground.
All 5 main rotor blades looked like that one pic, and they are suppose to be straight, not curved, and about 2 feet longer.
Do not let anybody put you in a situation that looks easy to get out of, cause you can get bit in the **** quick.
Luckly no one was hurt, but it was a real wake up call, to just what can happen.
Stay safe out there everyone, I'm trying to do the same. Might get to come home in July...will let ya'll know.
Morning hell it's 5:35 PM here, just got off work, and fixin to go eat dinner. So good evening all LOL.
Looks like I will get to come home on my last leave around the 8th July +21, after that will only have 30 days left to do in country, them contract complete.
Then hopefully take 2 or 3 months off, before I sigh up for another year tour, will have to wait and see.
No, I was setting in a full up and running helo just like it no more than 30ft away. The bird setting right next to it, took some "sling"damage.
Meaning some of the damaged blade parts flew off and hit the helo next to it, and it was running also. Ripped a big chunk of main rotor blade outa it, causing us to have to replace all 5 on that one.
All in a days work, at least no one was hurt. I would like to drive a Baja 1000 race prepped FORD truck around out there, that would be a blast, IMO.
