john deere 567

Anyone have any experience with a deere 567 net wrap baler? I broke the bottom front roller on the door a couple of weeks ago. A day and lots of $$$$$'s later I was going again, until today that is.Today the upper idler roller on the mainframe broke. Both times everything seemed to be going fine and then all of a sudden when the bale size gets approx 24" everything locks up only to find a broken roller each time. I do run the maximum pressure on the belts and I have the max bale size set at 71.5" This is my 3rd deere baler and I have have never seen this before. The partsman told me today that the serviceman might be able to get some info about the problem from the main company service reps on Monday. Just thought some of y'all might of had this problem with your baler, I know that there are several different balers out there made very similiar. It would be nice to get some ideas on what to look for tomorrow because I know that I will be out at the shop trying to get this figured out. Oh yeah, thanks to a good neighbor, I was loaned a baler to finish up for the day.

You didn't say the nature of the roller failure. If it is bearing failure I would guess you either have the pressure set too high or the bales are getting bigger then you think and are stressing them that way. I have a neighbor that crowds the max size on his John Deere round baler and he is always replacing the top roller.
I preffer my Vermeer round balers anyway. Cost less and are a better baler.

The rollers are breaking in the middle, the bearings look ok and turn freely. And yes I have always pushed the limit on size and pressure, but as I said earlier this is my third JD baler and have never seen this. You said your neighbor is always replacing the top roller in his baler, why? Are his breaking? Any info would be helpful. I hope to get it back together tomorrow. I would like to go to the field with confidence that I fixed the problem, not just put parts back on. No Vemeer dealers nearby, no experience with their equipment. Thanks again

Neighbor pushes the bale diameter bigger then the baler is designed for(6 feet) and is taking out the bearings most of the time. Once in a while breaks one in half. Like I said, I like my Vermeer yellow, and when it does occasionly break parts are cheaper then the deere green ones.
I would try setting your diameter a couple of inches smaller and see if that helps any. I also use a Kuhn rake now and have noticed that the hay feeds in a lot easier, trator don't seem to need as much HP to roll a bale as the hay is fluffy rather then twisted like the side delivery rakes do.
