I think I'm done.
I don't think you killed it or hurt it because it was getting some oil, just not enough. I ran my 300 in my F100 out of oil once and the only thing it did was get hot. Poured 4 quarts of oil in the pan 30 minutes later she fired right up and just kept on trucking.
i hope not!
It is normal for it to spin easy, It should!
However this also says that the pump is working!
You have a blockage someplace, either before or after the pump.
Pull the supply line off the remote filter and turn the pump with a drill.
Should be the center line on the remote adapter on the block.
It is a direct run from pump to the filter so this will indicate where to start looking.
Check the volume of flow, You could also put a gauge on this line to see the pressure.
Is the pan and pickup originally together on the running motor????
I've seen pickups setting on the pan causing no or low oil pressure.
Did you change the cam bearings????
you didn't say, I'll assume you didn't.
You really have a good chance of no damage yet, Especially if you coated the new cam real good with it's assembly lube.
Just DO NOT try starting it until you are certain you have oil pressure all the way to the top of the motor.
I know you don't want to hear this, but it needs to be said... Never fire a motor without first pumping it up just before you fire it up, This does TWO things, prevents a dry start, and ensures the oil system is functioning!
Don't give up! You'll regret it!
But you should also have what you want!
It's a good looking truck and I don't think you'll have as much trouble selling it as you think. After it's running ... And I know you'll succeed!

You are Ford tough! Look at your truck and tell us you are not! And I'll call you a liar!
All from the heart!
Like I said before, Been There, Done That!

I'm just guessin' but I think what pissed you off was the 6 hr fuel problem, then all hell broke loose with a oil pressure problem (plus all the history and attention you have given this ride was love in and of itself). And that sent the thrown tork wrench over the neighbors house. It would **** me off, because like Patton, I hate to cover the same ground twice. Yet, Carroll Shelby dealt with crazy problems, too. You're just dealing with something that is pissing you off majorly, but any other time cooler heads would have prevailed. It's just expectations and this MAJOR important component farted on you after all you have put into it.
I see it this way, your truck is a reflection of hard work, attention to detail and busting your a$$. Then just when the end of completion seems closer, you get spanked, set back and wanna take it to the crusher (or part it out). But, you would not have gotten into this game if you didn't have alittle 'fight for life' in you. It's just a respect thing and I think that is shared with alot of people on this site because of your knowledge. A month ago you were fired up, whole grill ripped out, ready to stab your engine in, now you just wanna walk away. I don't know you or your personality, but if your advise and mug shot are any indication you don't walk away from much. Yes, I do understand the concept of work smarter, not harder and about 'taking the long way around the block.' But it's like a marriage either you make it work day in and day out, good and bad, or leave it be and walk down the road to something better whatever you believe that to be. Not intending this to be an inspirational speech, yet with your knowledge you do the west coast choppers/OCC stuff, only to a ford truck.
Take Care,
Eric

Well stated. It's amazing that someone actually cares about someone on an internet board to write something like that!
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I would hope you plan on doing some investigating before just swapping the distributer and trying it!
Like looking at the pump drive shaft, pumping it up manually, seeing if you have flow/pressure to the filter and back to the motor... That sort of thing!
