New to forum recently purchased "03" SD with 6.0l started researching after purchase (not very smart) have not lost any coolant or any other problems. Is it worth time and effort to do a egr coolant delete before problems do i need to do coolant flush?THANKS gbishop "03" SD 6.0l auto 160,000 miles second owner
At the top of the main page you will see oasis request, go there and put your truck serial number in and you will get a report back telling you what work was performed on your truck while it was under warranty. If your truck has the original EGR cooler with 160,000 chances are you might not have a problem. My 2003 has the origional EGR cooler and valve with 115,000 with no problems.

I have a work truck that I abuse and bust and also a trouble free stock 03 excursion. Best thing I could say is,if it is not broke don't fix it. When it breaks but better parts in and enjoy the ride.
I'll tell you.... I am usually not a believer in gimmicks and gadgets. I recently had ARP studs put in my truck along with the liberator egr cooler delete. I now have SCT with innovative's tow tune. I just towed my 40 ft forest river sierra 5th wheel from upstate NY to Dover for the nascar race and my truck runs an average of 200 degrees cooler than before. The truck tows effortlessly. I highly recommend the cooler delete.
I did my egr delete kit a few weeks ago in my garage. It took about 10 hours, I used the First Coast Diesel kit. He sends a modified intake manifold with the kit. Excellent quality throughout. I did not need the head studs yet and installing them is a much bigger job. I will wait until I need them.
