Hey NumberDummy! Part Deux

Hey, can you tell me WTF this thing is? I'm not looking to get another one (I have two)
but am curious as to its name & purpose. Engineering ID:

D7HF-9F441-AA

It's a black box under the dash with wires leading through the firewall to one or more carb-
mounted solenoids is the best way I can describe it.

With/without cruise control has nothing to do with this part.
