I expect it out of a chrysler but breakin your new truck jeez. Is it the alternator? those will throw some crazy dash lights on when they start to go bad.
Just the battery light flickering. I am going to take it apart and clean the brushes and make sure they move free. The light only appears to come on the the engine is cold, after it all gets to temperature the light is out and stays out.

Seasoned alternators armatures sometimes become magnatized and will self energize-just need some rpms to do so but its days are numbered.
I hear ya on both counts. I guess I'll be on ebay today to order an alternator.
I have time today, I think I am going to tear mine down today and see if there is anything obvious to replace like a bad brush set or something.
That used to be a blast to rebuild, but after all of my local autoparts stores went away, and I was left with Auotzone and Murrays, I havent seen a rebuild kit.
When I do an alternator, I do two batteries. When I do two batteries, I do an alternator. Or, say, if I were to need one battery, then I'd do two batteries and an alternator. Say I needed an alternator and one battery, then I'd do two new batteries and an alternator. Maybe I only need half an alternator and 3/4 of a battery, what I'd do is both batteries and an alternator. On the other hand, if I only needed my alternator rebuilt, I'd replace both batteries and the alternator.
Sad thing for me, I have a 80 month warranty on my batteries, so, they only replace one for free, the one that is gone, but I agree.. 3/4 of alternator is kind of hard though..it takes a half *** attempt to pull it off
Lucky for me where I got the truck from already replaced a battery last month, so I only needed to replace the other one. Along with all the ends (why do back yard mechanics put $1 store cable ends on diesels?). I guess I will order the alternator today, then I won't have to think about that issue anymore.
The other vehicle will be back on the road this weekend (depending on UPS), all my parts shipped yesterday. They hooked me up, it's going to be a new blower. I have all new internals, seals, bearings, housing, pulley, belt, and oil coming.
I enjoy having the little projects, but I really like it when they spread themselves out just a bit.
