i have a 1994 f250 diesel, i am collecting the last of my parts for my sas swap, but how long are the brake lines for a 6" lift? for the front and the back.
on the front the rubber line starts at the frame where it is clamped then the line runs down the the caliper that has a metal tube sticking out and the rubber is clamped to that, so cant i just get a longer line? is the braided stainless overkill? i am not going to be bogging all the time or anything
This is a good honest question. For a true 6 inches of lift, the pre made lines made ofr additional 6 inches will be just fine. You can use your stock connections and braided stainless is not overkill. I mean can your brakes be too good? Can they be too reliable?
Alright, as an alternative, the stock lines can also be used, thay just have to be relocated. See the actually penetrate the frame, and once you lift it as far as you are going to, you have enough room to seperate the line where it fits through the frame, and you can relocate the connection and the small bracket right under the frame. This will lower the mounting point about 4.5 inches, and this will be enough to use the stocker lines.
This is an older truck, but the line relocated under the frame gives you the idea:
