Hey men ,how's everyone doing?I got a 88 f-250 4x4 with the 7.3 diesel. It never came with air conditioning but it has the spot where you can put the compressor.I want to set up a on board air system so i can run tools in the field and air up and air down my tires when im in the mud or snow. What kind of compressor am i looking for or which one will work best for what i need.Any help would be great.
I used a a/c compressor from a 93 mustang on a early bronco I had. worked good ran a impact gun fine. I also had a 3 gallon air tank so that helped. I used an inline oiler for air tools on the suction side and an oil seperator on the output side. As far as I know its still working.

Ha, that's just why I left my A/C compressor in when I ripped the rest of the A/C out. What are the threads for the compressor fittings, do you remember?
I just did this to my Cherokee. It is pretty simple. You can use pretty much any compressor you find to bolt up. Make sure you run an inline oiler on the suctions side. You can use the oiler off a Harbor Frieght oiler/seperator combo. Also, you will need a pressure switch. The cheapest and easiest are the ones the mini-truck guys use. A couple good sites that have tanks, switches, lines, gauges, and all that stuff are AirBagIt.com - Air Suspension, Mini-Truck Parts, Sport Compact Parts! or www.suicidedoors.com.
