clutch bearing

clutch bearing

How do you get the old throwout bearing off the bearing hub? I just put in a new clutch and I need to replace the bearing.

What year truck? What engine? What size/year/style clutch plate? What tranny? I'd bet that some or all that info will make a difference.

Inquiring minds want to know.....maybe.

'60 truck, 223 engine with a t-98 4 speed tranny. Clutch disk is 11" The shop manual shows it in two pieces but don't tell you how to get it apart.

If it's like the smaller trucks' pieces, it's a press fit. A couple whacks with a hammer on the edge of the bearing will likely start it off. Just don't damage the tube the bearing fits onto.
