That's all there is to it. Go to the junkyard and get the switch AND the module that the wiring from the switch plugs into, and plug it into your truck.
Ya. I swapped my 89 van and 88 RV module to get intermittent in the RV. There is an extra box that comes along with the intermittent module. It was dumb to not have intermittent in a Class C motorhome with the overhang.

Module? LOL I got an intermittent switch, it fits my wiring in both my 76 and my 79 but only will make my wipers go to high speed. What and where is the module I need?
I'm puzzled. I purchased an intermintent switch w/ a module and harness on E-bay. It won't do anything in either my 76 or 79. Only high works. Occasionally a single pulse in what I would have thought was the Off position. I'm seeing references to a cold solder in the control module box. I can easily get into the control module. Any tests I can do to see if the module is faultly? One thing I notice is that a blade that is associated with the washer motor is missing on the harness I got. Not surprisingly pushing the switch isn't triggering the washer motor.
Are you turning it to the left for intermittent? Center is off. To the right is low and high. I am not sure this is plug and play on the earlier trucks. I know it is on the 80-up trucks.
I lose low speed, and occasionally I get a single swipe I think at "off" or the very beginning of intermittent.
The intermintent switch has a separate ground wire, that the regular switch doesn't have. My 76 and 79 look the same. The wiring into the switch is two parts that nest into the switch. One part only has two blades and seems to control the washer motor, the other part has 5 or 6 blades. I notice that on the intermintent switch, that one of the blades that would have gone to the washer motor isn't in the harness, the slot is there, but no blade/receptacle and the intermintent switch won't control the washer motor. So? I need a 78-79 intermintent switch/modulator box? Or there the modulator has a piece that is burnt out? I thought that I could do this with a pre 80.
to get the washers to work with the newer switch module combo you will need to switch a couple of wires around.
i have mid 80's modules and switches in both my 79 F250 and 65 falcon. unfortunatly, it was done years ago, and i dont remember what wires need changing any more.
