wondering??

where i could find the top part of my injector pump its got the fuel shutoff and fast idle.. I need the top part because my injector pump is getting fuel to it but im not getting any fuel over to my #1 injector or any injectors for that matter.

Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.

Any decent diesel injection service should be able to get Stanadyne IP parts.

Midwest Fuel Injection has a decent reputation as an online dealer.

You can buy just the fuel shut off solenoid and don't have to replace the whole top injector pump cover assembley.

When did this problem start?

did you take the cover off?

I think he was talking about Midwest Fuel Injection being on the forum.

I don't know why I had such a bad time getting that link to show up.

Hmm.. not sure if its the fuel shutoff selonoid now or what. I run a hot wire straight off postive post on battery and I hear it click sounds like its working. to be honest with you I think my battery is dragging the engine down and causing the whole problem. I dont think its cranking fast enough. only real way to find out if battery is draggin is put 2 new batterys in. also my amp+ light comes on in the dash before i try to start it wonder if thats a sign or just normal.

Charles you shgould be able to get the batteries load tested at an auto parts store.

Just make sure you unhook the positive cable from one battery before they test and have them test each battery seperately.

If you don't do that, the test will a waste of time.

Also inspect the passenger side battery cable at the positive terminal.
Is the insulation burnt looking like it has been hot or is the cable swelling up close to the clamp?

If so you have corrosion inside the wire and connector which means not a good connection.
New positive battery cable is the only fix.

All power on the truck flows through the passenger side positive battery cable connector in both the charge and discharge modes.
