GEM module swap info needed please
I goofed up my GEM on my Early '99 and am tired of not having power windows or locks. A guy off the forum was going to help me and reprogram it with his factory Ford scantool but he has fallen off the face of the earth. After waiting a month to hear from him again and the local Ford stealership quoting me $135 to reflash it for me I figured I would rather just find another and replace it. My question is, will the one I found out of a 2000 hook right in and work since I am running an 01' PMT1? Anyone have any input on this, or how to r&r? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I would imagine that if you can get a GEM from the same PCM code and the GEM still has it's program it would be ok. They hold their programming when the batteries are disconnected. I can look in the service manual to see about the GEM RR for you.

I would love to be able to help you out but I know zero about the gem. Programming or R&R, nada.

Hmmm, very good idea. I hadn't even thought about him. I wonder how hard it is to program one?
