Thanks Guys,
Well, made it back from FL and decided on removing the 107 relay (Starter Relay). Now that I'm back in "Hell", I will remove the relay again and see if it fires up, or if it was the right relay. Hate to find out it did nothing. More to come.

While most of Ford's line-up got PATS in 2000, I believe 2004 was the "magic" year for PATS keys in the Super Duty line-up.
That is the first year that Ford added the following paragraph (or something similar) to the Super Duty Owner Guides:
Your keys are programmed to your vehicle; using a non-programmed key will not permit your vehicle to start. If you lose your dealer supplied keys, replacement keys are available through your authorized dealer.
There are no indications that this was only applicable to certain trim levels or option packages.
Optional on some vehicles from 2005 thru 2008 that I'm sure of......my previous '05 and current '08 truck do not have it.

How about this one: Get under the truck, and look at the driver's side of your trans. There is a black plug there. If you unplug it, the truck won't even crank. Trust me, I did it by accident once after installing a trans. temp. sensor . I'd bet most crooks won't risk the time to look too hard. Like the old bear and a buddy quote: It's not about being faster than the bear(thief), but being faster than your buddy (other vehicles in the lot).
Now that's interesting. And for a manual transmission, which won't start unless the clutch is in, there's probably another sensor that could be disconnected....

Very true. This can also be disconnected under the hood right by the firewall on the driver's side at the larger grey plug next to the two black ones.
Having followed the Ford Harley-Davidson Alliance trucks a bit more closely than the rest of Ford's offerings, I will say that all Harley-Davidson Super Duties came with PATS-equipped keys.
That places the usage of PATS keys in at least a portion of the Super Duty line-up (possibly dependent on trim level) starting as far back as 2004. This can be partially confirmed by the quote from the Owners Manual that I pasted into post #9 of this thread.

Actually it wasn't, the Super Duties didn't get a PATS system.
They never did it on the 99-07 trucks (not too sure about the '08 trucks) because they became so popular as fleet vehicles it would be grossly expensive for a business owner to have several keys cut and programmed by a dealer. Something as simple as that would turn business owners off of Fords, so it was easier to leave the PATS off the trucks, leaving them easier to steal. Vehicles like the Excursion and Expedition are SUVs that are sold mainly to families and non business ownes that only needed two keys. So putting the PATS on these trucks was a safe bet.
The long and short of it: sell a dependable truck that's easy to copy keys for and get most of the market share OR sell a dependable truck with expensive keys and lose the market share to Dodge and Chevrolet.
I gotta go to Fl this weekend and have yet to installan alarm system. So, I am hoping someone might tell me of a quick fix. I am looking for a easily accessable fuse or relay I can remove at night to keep small-time thieves from possibly making off with my # four (after the wife and both girls) possession.
I guess that if someone were to break into my truck over the weekend and they tried to steel my baby (06 F350 SD, CC, 4x4, PSD, Auto), the most they would figure out is how to trash the interior and maybe steal the radio.
Thanks guys,
Spencer
Any pics of your truck? I live in biloxi/gulfport and am curious if I have seen it around...
