my mechanic, said that he would charge me about 450 for a tune up, the most important part he mentioned that this takes care of is, a fuel injector cleaning: done by going under the throttle body and doing sometype of induction cleanse to get all the carbon out the engine .. no this maybe be a stupid question but isnt that what seafoam does ??
can isave money by doing the seafoam cleanse through the PCV line or what he will do, whatever it is, is far superior..

How does he plan to remove all the carbon from the motor like that.
the heads, pistons, valves etc are what are covered in carbon.
I would call BS on him.
Change the plugs, fuel and air filters if they are due.
And drive it.
Cars no longer get "Tune Ups" like the old days.....back when they may need a new cap, rotor, points, condensor, and plugs every year, sure.
Now its a joke.
Change the plugs and filters as per the manual.
Also service the tranny as per the manual.
And drive it more, and worry less.
Proper oil changes is the key to keeping internals clean...Use a good oil, and change it as required, along with the oil filter.
Don't let it just sit around idling for no reason.
On occasion give it a decent run....say a trip where it is at full temp for a while to cook off any condensation etc.
And don't be scared to hammer the pedal to the mat on occasion.
No need to all the time, but i think a full throttle blast on occasion to say pass a car or whatever does them good.....amybe I am full of crap, but that is what i do.
Anything you spray into the manifold isn't going to do jack for cleaning the injectors.
You need to use a fuel system/Injector cleaner run thru your fuel system to clean Injectors.
Seafoam gives me the *******.
