Just a tip - there is an inner "arm" that is on the base of the mirrors and mounts inside the doors. See if you can work with it. I cut mine off as it didn't look like it would work and I'd have to cut a decent size hole in the door just to test it. Without that support there the mirrors seem to shake a bit. The guy with the truck your pic is of said he did the same thing and has the same problem.
I also talked to another guy who did this swap and he said he was able to get the inner arm to work. He bolted it to the edge/track for the door glass inside the door.
Once I get the crew running I'll see if the mirrors rattle enough to bug me. If they do I'll get another set and keep the inner arms on them.

Reason: I suck at spelling
Will do! I'm restoring back to stock, with a few appearance/function upgrades along the way. I spent my free time today fabing some mounting brackets for a pair of high back Cheby bucket seats my uncle gave me.
cool deal. My crew cab (Muttly - named that way because it is a mutt - mix of parts) will be much more "stock" than my supercab and if you check the build thread you will see it isn't really "stock".
The supercab will be a desert/race truck build.
4 seats, full tip to tail roll cage, full fiberglass (bedsides hood and the same fenders as in the pic you posted), 351w, race c6, 64" chevy leafs, autofab beams, BIG shocks, full floater 9" rear with 35 spline axles and rolling on 35" race tires. Oooooh - I'm getting all tingly just thinking about it
whats up with that trucks front fender? is that a aftermarket fiberglass fender? it looks like it bubbles out? or I'm seeing things? also these mirrors don't look half bad,
chasetruck754, have you started that Supercab build yet?
Nope - gotta finish the crew cab 1st. And that is slow going right now.

Yes they are an aftermarket fiberglass fender. That EXACT pair from the pic is in my possession right now. Those ones are made by Autofab and are a 3" flare (per side) and 3" wider wheel opening. I am looking at making a 5" flare (per side) and 4" larger wheel opening now because those ones are too small...
Found mine in a junkyard From a 1996 F-150 cut the arms with a hacksaw. Just be sure to put nuts to the two bolts so they cannot be removed from the outside.
