no one relay for the starter and one for the GP's so two as near as i can tell. I dont see anything under and behind the filter. So if she doesnt click then bad correct? Napa carry them or something like lordco/canadian tire?
Is there a purple wire on a little terminal on the one for the GP??
Yes, If they don't click when energized they're likely bad, and yea Napa or whatever should have them.
What type of terminals on your GP's (Spade or Pin)
No controller hmmm... That's the first thing I would be fixing!
I don't like manual GP's... To easy to get distracted and burn up ~$80 (=Approx. $80).

well yeah thats just it though bro, i dont have a manual control and if i did it would be a temporary push button so it cant be left on. The GP's are spade connectors and yes i have a little purple wire.
Ok,
Relay on the Inner Fender ... Pre '87 (I think)
Spade Style GP's ... Pre '87 (I think)
Purple Wire to Relay ... Pre '87 (I think)
It's established you have the older style Glow system ...
That purple wire is the signal wire from the Controller that should be on the top back of the motor.
When you first turn your key on when the motor is cold you should get 12v+ on it if your controller is there (top back of motor) and working...
If you remove the purple wire and apply 12v+ to the terminal it was hooked to does the relay click?
(hold no more that 10 seconds unless all GP's are unplugged)
If no click, no power on BOTH large terminals while energized, The relay is bad!
You can add power to that terminal (purple wire removed) on the relay from a button to do manual GP's.
If the relay is good!

So for the manual power, just get a temp switch and run power between itself and the relay so when activated it will "click" and route power to the GP's correct? I still cant find that gpc.....dont know what the hell is up with this frankenstein. That is the reason for needing a total rewire!!

Thats correct, remove the purple wire from the relay and run switched (Push Button) power to the terminal it came off. DO NOT HOLD ON for more than 10 seconds!
Someone may have removed the controller, or you're not looking hard enough...
Wish I had a digi cam, I'd snap a shot of it's location for ya!
It's not like it's that hard to see. Unless of course there isn't one there...
[edit]
Personally, I would fix it correctly, I'm not a fan of hacking in a manual switch.

haha still see no gpc, but i did find out that with a wire touching it to the battery and one of the posts of the wrong relay that i can turn the engine over!! haha scared the ****e out of myself!! No clicking on the other one so i am off to lordco to get one, 64 bucks to see if it will solve the problem! we will see!!!!
Check the purple wire for power (12v+) when you first turn on the ignition with a cold motor.
That will tell you if a relay is going to fix it or not and if your controller works or not.
Cold motor = less than 112F degrees.
Though regardless you'll still need to replace the relay if it's bad.
