Man you guys are patient. thanks 4 waiting, I'll do this later today. I should add that the seats are better than when installed, they seem to "break in" like a leather jacket. Only gripe is some wear on the side bolsters from getting in and out.

The seats look great! I assume that you custom ordered the two-tone pattern... if you don't mind, where did you purchase them and at what cost?

Hey Andrew, sorry for the long wait...good thing I'm not a paramedic. The black/gray 2 tone is one of the stock color choices, no upcharge. I remember they also had all black, a solid gray and just a couple more in the microsuede. Fabric had more choices in color but my interior on the XL was mostly black and gray.

Bought them from www.TREperformance. They are an authorized Corbeau dealer and included, at least at the time, free shipping. Real fast delivery and great follow up. They called to double check my bracket choice as their catalog showed the bracket going thru like 02 or something and took note that I had an 08. I explained to them the floor pans hadn't changed, they verified it and then shipped. Thought it was cool they were so thorough.
Right around 1150.00 delivered which included an upcharge for a 2" wider seat to accomodate my not so skinny ***.

I definitely like the wider seats... that's my only complaint about the OEM bucket seats and why I don't want them in my truck. There are a couple of issues with using the Corbeau seats in my truck. Like you, I have a regular cab truck but I need the 3rd seat capability. My interior color is tan so I would either have to use all black or go the custom color route, which is very expensive.

At this point, I think that I going to have my bench seat modified with a better quality lower cushion then have the entire seat covered in leather or a high quality marine vinyl. I think for $400-500 I can get a more comfortable and better looking bench seat while maintaining the 3rd seat capacity.

Thanks for posting up the pics!

Furian, why not just get a 40/20/40 from an XLT and replace your bench? Especially if you can find an electric one with lumbar adjustment, it would be a big upgrade.

So now you have had them a while what do you think of them in terms of comfort? And durability? I'm looking for some new seats to replace the vinyl buckets but I have a hard time dropping a grand on seats that I havent even got to sit in to see if I like em...

As far as build quality goes, the seat frames, backs, mounts, foam and materials used are at least as good as a factory seat if not better. The slides seem to work fine although I don't use them a lot...in the standard cab theres one position for me, all the way back. Recline mechanism has very positive stops.

The upholstery is microsuede and is holding up real well. I smoke, drink copious amounts of coffee and it is a work truck, no trailer queen. The truck has just under 24k, about 22k with the new seats. There are leather patches in high wear areas and they seem to do what they are supposed to but on the drivers seat, I am showing some wear on the left side seat bolster from getting in and out, the bolster sits high to keep you planted but is kind of in the way when you exit or enter. I've gotten used to using the step bars to get in and out, seems to keep the rubbing to a minimum.

Seat comfort is a matter of how you like to drive. These seats are firm, not soft and cushy. They hold you in place way better than any factory seat I've seen, particularly when cornering. Zero fatigue on long runs, I do not find myself moving around or adjusting myself to get comfortable.

Value. I'm old school. I don't know that any pair of seats is worth nearly 1200 bucks but I would buy them again. I got an XL purposely so I could dump some money into it on mods without breaking the bank. I wouldn't put a wrench to a 45 or 50 k truck but thats just me.

Hey Bronco, one more thing. I was gun shy about buying a seat without sitting in it first. On Corbeaus' website I found a retailer in the Chicago area that had a bunch of seats in his showroom so I was able to "test drive" these b4 ordering them. I'm guessing there may be a dealer in Ohio. Then order from TRE to save at least the sales tax.

I've considered that option many times but am having a very difficult time finding "Tan" OEM seats in excellent condition. I find a lot of "Grey" seats on eBay. I have the 40/20/40 seats in my 1997 F250 and find the driver's seat to be too narrow... and I'm not a big guy. I really don't mind my current bench seat. I just wish that the lower cushion was a little thicker (softer). I'm thinking that I'll have an upholstery shop replace the lower cushion and have a custom cover make to accent the interior colors. Although I would love to install a 2008-2010 center console for extra storage, I really don't want to lose that 3rd seating capacity.

I've though about trading my truck for a SC or CC truck but everything I see is priced in the lower to mid $20K's. Although I get extra seating with these trucks, I lose off-road capability and performance due to the extra weight. I purchased my truck to be a "bug-out" vehicle. I wanted something heavy duty yet nimble as possible. The regular cab configuration meets that requirement. I guess that there are pro's and con's to every option...

Good idea, I'll check here sometime and see if I can find a local dealer.

That is the question... do I want a good fitting firm seat or soft and cushy. I'd say probably firm but the truck will be used for long runs with the family... we go to visit the family a few times a year 9hrs each way... plus I plan on getting a camper and doing some traveling too. Its neat they have the wider seats the problem is I'd prefer the narrow one for my 175# self while my 'somewhat' larger wife would probably need the bigger one, I wonder if they would mix n match em.

I see how the side bolsters would wear getting in and out since they are so deep... probably not a big deal from a car where you are stepping up out the seat but on a big truck were you have to slide over and down it might be in the way. I was kinda looking at the VX2000 seat, did you happen to sit in that one? Looks like it may not have as deep bolsters and more universal fit for different sized folks.

I'm right there with you, got the XL purposely to save money up front, and then as time goes on I could upgrade what I want as I went. My biggest regret is not sticking with the base bench seat though if I upgrade it anyhow. I opeted for the buckets, and though they are OK, but I thought I was getting a center consol with it which it did not, and I thought it would have armrests and it does not. So other than putting your arm in your lap about the only thing you can do is let it dangle there like a caveman I guess. I also thought the rear seat would fold up and down and it does not. So I am kinda wondering why I paid the extra $350 or whatever it was just to have a gap between the seats... The front seats I can cover or replace, add center consol, etc, but I am stumped with the rear seat... I am guessing they dont make aftermarket bench seats? I might just have to search junkyards and find a cloth one that folds I guess.

I can relate to your dilemna... comming from a short bed regular cab lil F150 on mudders that could go anywhere... my F150 could probably turn sharper than a lot of cars too. But due to my son I needed something larger than a reg cab and I didnt like a lot of things they did to the newer F150s and wanted the 8' bed since we moved out of the city and now I'm hauling a lot of stuff around, so I just went all the way with the CC and 8 footer. On the stock pizza cutters, it needs 4x4 on my driveway if there is any snow.
My solution is to get a trailer and 4 wheeler so I dont have to have good offroading on the truck. I think to match the capabilities of my 150 with 33's and 2" lift I'd need 12" and 38's on the 350... and even then it would still suck with manueverability.

Hello, new to this forum, I have a 2001 350 S D crew cab that the cloth bench seat is worn out, and want some good "bucket" seats, in my research I came upon this site, and your post, I was wandering after a year of use, how are they holding up? Would you still buy them again, or have you found some that are better? I am about your size, 220# 38" waist with a little belly that hangs over my belt, 6' tall, I don't have any place to test one, how close fitting are the side bolsters? Where did you get the CC? Sorry for all the questions, but I am frustrated with what is available for replacement seats now a days.
Phil

Hi Phil and welcome to FTE. Asking questions is the easiest way to get a lot of good info here so no need to apologize.
My aforementioned concerns about the left side seat bolster on the driver bucket seem to be slowly manifesting themself although its a cosmetic issue and does not affect the integrity of the seat. The seat fabric at the bolster area has more or less reshaped itself from getting in and out of the truck repeatedly. There are 2 or 3 folds at the base of the side bolster that are there permanently. I would describe it more as a patina, not unlike that of a leather seat, that just shows that the seat is clearly frequently used.
I've got just south of 50k on the truck already and an inordinate amount of in and out cycles. Most days I'm making 20+ stops visiting sites or property we own so the equivalent of normal use is more likely about 100,000 miles or so.
Upholstery has held up quite well, probably better than OEM would have. The seats actually get more comfortable over time as they tend to conform to the *** of the primary user (me). The hardware and brackets have not worn at all, still as tight and work as well as when installed. Support from side and seat bolsters is still on the money, they keep you planted during cornering maneuvers.
I would not hesitate to purchase the same seat again. In fact, I recently gave my 97 Ranger to an employee who has been loyally at my side for the last 10 years and he just ordered a set for it since he likes the seats in the F250 so much.
I purchased the seats from TRE Performance.com and the service was excellent. I've not needed any follow up but my guess is that they would be helpful if needed.
If you decide to order some, opt for the 2" wider version for an extra 100 bucks or so for the pair. I did and they fit my not so petite frame just fine.
