tailgate emblem

tailgate emblem
on my 86 F250 diesel,4x4,4spd NON OD truck there is 2 little holes in the upper right hand corner for an emblem, typically says OD, Fuel injected.
What should be there being i have neither? Should it say diesel like the fender emblem?

I know what you are talking about, Brad.
On the tailgate, on the top right hand corner, there are two holes located there for an emblem or nameplate of some sort. My truck has overdrive, so there is a small emblem on mine there that says "OVERDRIVE." If you had a 1985-1986 model with EFI, you would have an emblem that says "ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION."
Being a diesel, yours should have an emblem that says "DIESEL." Check the junkyard for that nameplate or I have seen them for sale at Dennis Carpenter Reproductions.
