E4OD goes into reverse twice.
I have a 92 F150 4X4 302 with E4OD tranny. The tranny seems to work fine but sometimes when I put it into reverse it feels like it's going in twice. What I mean is that I feel the tranny kick in and about a second later I feel it kick in again. Apart from this everything seems fine. Does anyone know what the problem is and how serious is it?

E4OD goes into reverse twice.
What you are feeling is two clutches applying. The high clutch and the low/reverse clutch both need to be on to be in reverse. It's normal. Some transmissions have more feel to this than others.
How old is your transmission fluid? Older fluid can make the clutches engage with more feel. New fluid might make this less noticeable.
