I'm trying to track down a vacume leak in my 99 ranger 4x4 and 3.0 does anyone have or know where to get a diagram for the lines. would a chiltons manuel have that in there??
I haven't found a good diagram for a 99 3.0L in my Ford Manual. It might be in the Emissions manual which I don't have. Is there a diagram in the engine compartment?
The manual you want is titled: "Electronic Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual", or EVTM. You can find them on eBay, or in the back of the owners manual is a form to order them from the publisher. Helm, Inc.
The manual has diagrams of all electronic parts, labels for their inz&outz, explanations of what they do, and why, and breakouts of many of the connectors, switches and pinouts for all the gizmos in your vehicle. A brain dump, if there is one.
If you are a gear-head, you will start at page one, and read to the end. I am, and did, just as I read Motors and Chiltons, to see how things were done, and mentally re-engineer the parts.
Anyway, get an EVTM. A manual worth its weight in dollar bills?
