Clutch problem

I have a 1990 F-350 with a 460 and a 4 speed. The problem I'm having is that when the clutch is engaged there is a squeak in the clutch. I think it's the throw out bearing, because I looked in the housing and could not see any space between the pressure plate fingers and the bearing. Should there be some clearance there? I should add that when I go under the truck when it's running and put just the slightest amount of pressure on the clutch fork, in any direction the squeak stops, and also when the clutch is disengaged the squeak stops. I can find no way to adjust the slave cylinder. Any advice would be helpful.

Ok...first of all there is no way to adjust the hydraulic clutches. They're self-adjusting. Secondly...if the squealing or squeaking stops when you play with the throwout bearing than 99.9% of the time that's your culprit. Just a word of advice from personal experience, if you replace the throwout bearing you might want to replace the clutch slave cylinder also while you have the tranny separated. Just a helpfull hint

Clutch problem

Try just bleeding the system before you get into taking the tranny out. Simple solutions sometimes works. Could just be that old fluid isnt letting the TOB engage right.
