8.8 brake pad orientation???

It's been 6 months since I disassembled the 2001 Explorer 8.8 for my Jeep XJ project. Now, I can't remember the proper orientation of the brake pads. Here they are:

My thinking is that the notch goes to the back to eliminate the pad from lifting out.

Anyone know absolutely which way them go?

Without yanking the wheel off my 97, it appears that the notch goes to the back of the wheel and the tab is to the front. Whether that's the same on a 2001 or not, I am not so sure.
