Back when I was 14 I joined S10Forum.com to learn about s-10s. I bought an s-10 when I was 15 and had it until I was about 19. Anyway, every one on the forum had names describing their truck and me being a smart *** I picked futuresweets10 since I didn't own an s10 yet. Kinda lame, but its stuck for 10 years now, so its what I use on all forums.

This doesn't explain Bigfwt04? Is this a "nom de plume".

It's possible. How old were you in '68/'69?

My Dad retired in '71 after serving 22 years.

Your dad certainly wasn't as young as I was. I turned 21 in Feb '69.

He was what, in his late thirties? I just assumed he was younger because so many of us were just kids. I was one of the older NFGs at just 21. I didn't get drafted until I was 20.

Dad joined up during the American occupation of Japan. He met my mom there, did two tours in Korea, and one it Vietnam.

He was a Master Sergeant in charge of the G-3 test site at Fort Ord, back when it was set up as a Basic Traning site.

He was in Vietnam in somewhere between '67 to '69, I can't remember clearly because I was born in May '65.

So yea, you're old enough to have fathered a child born in '65!

I could have been a high school daddy. That was the year I graduated. I came close. My first son was born in 68.

Your dad had one heck of a career. They call the Korean War the "Forgotten War". Not much recognition for those who served there, and that is a shame. I salute your Dad for all his service.
