So my next question..... I will use the 5-40 but when cold weather gets here can I just keep using the 5-40? It usually just gets in the teens.
Thanks!
Use the 5w-40 Synthetic (Rotella, etc...) confidently year round. I live in Las Vegas where it gets 110 degrees plus and this is the oil my truck really likes!!
Guys....let me make this very clear...I will only do it once....I will not tolerate "oil" wars of any kind....one on one..... company on company....or 10 against twenty.....and some here are famious for it...SO CHILL.
Ok, so I think this is settled :0) I'm gonna give the Rotella a spin.. and keep the oil changes frequent. Thanks all for the great help and suggestions!!
You know, you keep on saying that it works wonders on the 6.0 and yet you or the company that you represent on these boards have not sent anything that was tested on the 6.0. That oil analysis that is on your brochure that you were emailing for those interested in the other thread was tested on a 7.3, I couldn't tell rather it was IDI or DI, so that could be another issue with it. Which I didn't see your response in that thread as I had posted mine about that information before you did your response on trying to get the info uploaded.
Second, you may have a wonderful product, I have yet to see any clear cut proof of that and the wishy washy testimonials from people only go so far, even the better testimonial that you have has one issue with it that hasn't been resolved yet(or could be an issue with it, I have to determine that based on the answer that I get). However, the means at which you go about hocking those products are pissing more people off and that reflects badly on the company. Those "rock on" comments aren't really good as a representative for the company as well, if we "say" it there is a little more latitude, you say it it's unprofessional. Double standard, but you have to deal with it.
I have yet to see anything related to testing on the 6.0 on any of your products and yet you keep on hocking it in the 6.0 forums. You need to change your strategy here, I get more PMs from people that are tired of you doing this then anything else, I guess they send it to me because they know of my stance on these products based on what I've seen so far.
I really am trying to keep an open mind here, but the way your conducting yourself here, the way your constantly hocking your products(I can think of one user that spends more time helping people then actually plugging his product, I think he plugged it 3 times that I'm aware of, I'm aware of far more times from you then that and I'm not trying to spot these from any of y'all, I don't have to try with you) and the lack of testing on the 6.0 that I've seen are all question marks when stacked up with the huge claims that y'all are making.
I have to see more come out from y'alls end, otherwise, rather it's from me or not, you're going to have to deal with this most everytime you post on here. I don't want any: "well we will send stuff off and let you know later" excuse either. If these products can do without a doubt what all y'all claim that they can do, then I would have that evidence ready to send out to show people, not to make them pull teeth to get it out of y'all. I'm not asking for big secrets(if any) to be revealed, just good, consistent, quality testing on the 6.0 engine.
If it truly is as good as you say it is and you are able to sway myself and others that have my position on this then that will be a helluva lot better for you and cut your work down, then going about it the way that you are.
I am currently using Rottela syn and just about ready to do an oil sample then I am going to try Blue Diamond and do an oil sample on it to compare and I will post them. My sample will be done by a third party we will see if there is any difference.
