1986 dash pad

1986 dash pad

I have a 1986 f150 that is missing a dash pad. I have seen places that sell what looks like the pad but it says goes over the original pad. Problem is i do not have the original pad. I can get a cracked one at the junk yard. Would i need the cracked one to install one of these over or can i make it work somehow? Also, do they look any good? Your help is much appreciated.

I saw one in a JY not real long ago and thought it looked pretty dang good. But, they're thin
& flimsy, so I'd think you'd want an old dash pad under there for support.

Thanks for the help. I will just get the one from the junk yard and get one of these and put it over it then.

On the dash pad covers,that is correct you would need the old pad under the cover for support.The cover's a great product.It will clean up the dash for you,so that it dosen't look worn out.
