I put an overdrive pulley on the 3G alternator on my Lincoln's 302, so the alt can keep up with the stupid amount of light power I have in that car. Why overdrive, and not underdrive? Cause of the use the engine was seeing, lots of idling and low-revv. With yout 302, how high do you go as far as engine speed, and how often you do it? Everyday off-the-light races where you shift at 6k would probably justify the underdrive setup install, but if you mostly drive your truck as a daily driver they you may actually hurt your cooling and charging systems by slowing down the water pump and the alt... It's your decision man, you know best what you do with that truck.

Nope, you should be fine, the underdrives hurt you most when you are creeping through traffic, or a similar low-speed high-heat situation. For what you do with your truck, go ahead and install the underdrives, they will indeed free up some power - whether you will feel that or not is a different thing, but they will free up power nevertheless.

i belive that the spacer creates more trouqe by giving making the intake runners longer and also provides a little more cooling for the air. it would affect ur computer any way at all. have u seen this thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...n-install.html the i would change is the big *** relay he used, i just used the one that came in my 40 controller kit from auto parts store works fine

That is correct - the intake spacer increases the runners length, which ends up beneficial for the low-end torque. It also insulates heat from being easily transferred from the hot lower intake manifold to the relatively cool upper manifold, which reduces heat transfer from the manifolds to the air rushing through them. The cooled air will be registered properly by the air-charge temp sensor, and the PCM will adjust the fuel delivery accordingly, so all will be good in the end. I run a spacer like that in my 302 Lincoln, I installed it at the same time I upgraded the upper manifold and the throttle body and also bumped up the base timing so while I'm sure it works like it should, I can't tell you how noticeable the improvement will be with that spacer you're looking at.
