I've got a 1999 f350 crew cab 7.3l single rear wheel.
My drivers side window finally stopped working. It has been hit or miss for a few months now. I used to able to tap on the switch and get it working. It has the auto down function. I can hear a clicking sound under the dash but it won't budge up or down.
I checked the wires in the door behind the door panel and in the rubber boot you can see when the doors is open and everying looks good, at least none are cracked or separated. I've also checked the fuses under the hood and in the cab and none are blown. While I had the door panel off I tapped on the window motor just in case it was bound up.
What could it be? The switch or the motor? Since I hear clicking under the dash when hitting the switch, does that mean that the switch is working?
mine would go down real slow. and some times stop midway ,wait a few min. then it would go the rest of they way, i fixed mine by cleaning the window track, and gave it a shot of silcone spray.
