dumb question maybe?

my truck currently has a 5inch exhaust no tip or anything just 5inch all the way back, and im wanting to add a 7inch chrome tip this is the one i want to add
5 Inch Inlet 7 Inch Outlet 18 Inch Length Weld On Chrome Exhaust Tip

my question is when it says 5inch inlet are they saying it slips over a 5inch inlet exhaust or will i have to cut some of the existing exhaust and weld it to it?, i know it says its a weld on exhaust tip but im just wondering. and if any of you have a better place to get a exhaust tip let me know. thanks.

It should slip right on and a couple small tack welds would be enough to hold it in place. The only reason you'd have to cut your exhaust is if the tip stuck out too far once you got it slid on. Should be easy sleasy for you!

yeah i just wasnt sure becuase if my exhaust is 5inchs and the inlet is 5inchs then i would have to cut it then weld it to it, im not sure when they say 5inch inlet if they mean it will slide over a 5inch exhaust or what lol, thats why i was asking seeing if anyone had any experience with this. thanks for the input
