cowl molding removal question

cowl molding removal question

66' f-100 removing all the side molding to color sand and buff paint, kinda poked around looking at how to get to the nuts for the cowl molding?

thanks in advance, will have more question's new to these slicks

Believe you have to snake your hand up through the air vent to get the nuts off. But on second thought maybe the 65-66's don't have the same vent that the 64 and earlier has.

yeah, vent looks a little small to get my hand into but it has carpeted kick
panels maybe remove those?

66 f100s dont have removable kick panels unfortunately. you just have to try to maneuver around in there with a ratchet and try your hardest to get the nuts off. good luck.

As mentioned, I too think it's the only way to get those friggen (you'll say much worse) nuts off. Unless you have a midget with tiny hands hangin around. I had trouble getting my big ol jimmy dean sausage fingers up there........

Take the air vent out (with 6 or 8 screws) and it will allow a bit more room to get inside. It is still easier if you have someone with small hands.

yeah, i remove the air vent and can feel up there, just going to have to take my time
