I'm working on an 86 Ford Ranger and am wishing to remove cowl to repair dents in cowl. I see its got spot welds at front corners. Does it also have welds beneath windshield trim, or is molded integularily to the firewall? Also planning to do some preventive maintenance once inside like clean and paint to keep out rust also going to replace clips on wiper arm while in there instead of just reaching through that small access hole in fire wall.

 

All of the cab structure is welded together, mostly with spot welds. Only the front fenders are bolted on. You might visit a local wrecking yard to see if they have a Ranger partially dismantled and get a better picture of how the cowl attaches near the windshield.
