Behind rear window cab trim.

Has anyone installed the chrome trim (2) piece behind the rear window?
I'm two toning my kids truck soon and would like some suggestion.
Truck doesn't have the factory rivets heads on it.

Thanks

Mitch

Are you talking about the aluminum strip that fits directly behind the cab? I decided to two tone one of my rigs and divide the colors with this strip as well. My original cab did not have provisions for the plastic retainers either. I used this belt line piece to maintian a straight line, and then I used a small stainless steel screw to hold the plastic tabs in.
I used a couple of extra ones to make sure that the aluminum strip has a batter chance of staying on when I am off road.
Some clear silicone was applied to the holes before the screws went in to prevent water from getting in.
Matter of fact, many of my trim pieces are installed with this method. Not all of my body panels had provisions for any trim at all.

Thanks for the post; that's exactly what i plan on doing; I thought of pop rivets but your reply (SS Screws) is more secure. I hope the curved end will pop on as well as the straight edge side onto the plastic retainers.
again thanks for your reply.

Silicone is corrosive to the metal of the cab and body panels. I wouldn't use silicone on bare metal like that myself.

I recommend All around Autobody caulk and sealant, made by 3M.

You can get it at most automotive paint stores. This is also simular to the stuff Ford used in the seams of the cab, and bed.

I guess the two clips at each end of the trim pieces will remove so I can screw them onto the body prior to clipping the trim onto the truck?
To help clarify my post; the new pieces I bought has the plastic clips insode the edge of the trim already and the remainder clips I have in a bag along with to more end clips. So I can't seem to remove the plastic clips with damaging the trim. I figure I would be force to drill a ss screw thru the trim into the body.
Thanks for your replies.
