DSII Issues

Hey y'all,

Looking for a quick fix. Installed a DSII/non feedback on my '86. Fires up but cuts off right away. New (rebuilt) carb, new harness from Painless, etc. Was easy to install and started easy once I had the timing right, but won't stay running. New fuel pump as well. I'm thinking electrical? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Rich

Is it possible you wired the dizzy to the actual 'crank' position of the ignition switch instead of 'ignition hot'?

The DS2 module has 2 power inputs. One is a red wire and it is hot with the key in the ON position and also when cranking. The other wire is white and it is powered during cranking only. The wire colors are on the DS2 module, not the truck harness.

Sounds like a wiring problem on the power side of the module as noted. You could have kept your TFI coil and used a GM HEI module with your DS distributor and probably had less headaches and better spark.
